A newcomer to Blackwoods, Justin has hit the ground running. Since May, he’s established himself as the key electrical support for a major client in the resources sector.

His goal is to demonstrate Blackwoods’ capabilities in the electrical space, providing more efficient and powerful solutions across the corporation.

“I have a clear challenge: to ensure Blackwoods is recognised as a leading player in the market," Justin says. “Strong communication is really important in making sure we can provide nextlevel electrical services covering every requirement. Whether I’m working on infrastructure challenges, cabling, lighting or distribution board upgrades, I regard it as a great opportunity for Blackwoods to excel.”

From his Brisbane office, Justin travels extensively to remote mine sites. There he sees the corrosive effects of the harsh environment on expensive equipment. With rapid deterioration, breakdowns are common – and downtime is costly.

His role is to help the client boost productivity, reduce downtime and streamline workflow. He focuses on products and processes offering greater performance at reduced cost. Justin is introducing the latest automation, control development and LED lighting options, as electrical solutions continue to evolve.

The favourite part of his job? Developing his skills in the industrial mining space, meeting site crews and liaising with client contacts. With more than two decades in the industrial and commercial electrical space, Justin is easygoing and adaptable. He describes himself as a good ‘people person’ and a dependable all-rounder.

When he’s not exploring new electrical solutions, you’ll probably find him exploring the great outdoors with his wife and young family.
