It’s something I really enjoy, helping customers maintain a safe work environment,”* says Adam.   Starting out as an Account Manager in 2017, Adam quickly gained knowledge across many industries including transport, manufacturing and mining. While today predominately serving small and medium-sized enterprises in the northern region[![Adam Seaward (1)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Adam%20Seaward%20(1).jpg?width=280&height=280&name=Adam%20Seaward%20(1).jpg)](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/specialties) of Perth, he’s also active with large mining customers in Geraldton and Kalgoorlie, assessing safety and bringing new innovation to site.   When asked about the value a Blackwoods technical specialist can provide… “*One of our utility customers reported significant hand injuries that were occurring across their operations. As the local TSS, I was engaged to assess the problem and find a solution. It was evident several gloves used were not designed for a few of their tasks. This was mainly due to lack of knowledge on glove types and their purpose.”*   On the back of an internal education program, “*We developed a glove matrix as a visual guide to support workers to identify the right glove for a specific task. We backed this up with visual safety messaging such as posters positioned across the worksite and sourcing the appropriate gloves.” “It clearly demonstrates there are ‘horses for courses’ when it comes to gloves, whether for power tools, hand tools, knives or heavy lifting. It’s great to be able to gain the trust of a customer and solve a serious safety issue.”*   When Adam is not onsite, he’s an active sportsperson – plays Cricket in the summer, a passionate AFL fan and busily overseeing all his sons’ sports activities throughout the year.   [Get in touch](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/specialties) with our safety specialist [here.](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/specialties)  [![Safety Spotlight](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Online%20Form%20Banner%201000x280-3.jpg?width=1000&height=280&name=Online%20Form%20Banner%201000x280-3.jpg)](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/safety-spotlight?c=safety-spotlight-edition-7&page=1)   Related Articles - [![CASE STUDY: On-site Vending Machines - A Safe Solution](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101922.png?width=671&height=312&name=Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101922.png)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/onsite-vending-machines) - [![Meet the Australian-Aboriginal Artist Behind the New Blackwoods Catalogue](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101929.png?width=662&height=307&name=Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101929.png)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/bianca-gardiner-dodd-interview) - [![StoreSAFE: How We Do Things At Blackwoods](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101934.png?width=638&height=313&name=Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101934.png)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/storesafe-how-we-do-things-at-blackwoods) - [![Aiming to Reduce Injuries at Work](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101942.png?width=559&height=306&name=Screenshot%202024-11-13%20101942.png)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/aiming-to-reduce-injuries-at-work) | [CASE STUDY: On-site Vending Machines - A Safe Solution](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/onsite-vending-machines) | # [Meet the Australian-Aboriginal Artist Behind the New Blackwoods Catalogue](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/bianca-gardiner-dodd-interview) | # [StoreSAFE: How We Do Things At Blackwoods](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/storesafe-how-we-do-things-at-blackwoods) | # [Aiming to Reduce Injuries at Work](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/aiming-to-reduce-injuries-at-work) | | --- | --- | --- | --- |   [Safety](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/tag/safety) - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ## **Read related articles** [![Celebrating and supporting women in construction](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hubfs/Blackwoods%20IIC%20Blog%20Image.png)](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/celebrating-and-supporting-women-in-construction) #### [Celebrating and supporting women in construction](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/celebrating-and-supporting-women-in-construction) ![Picture of Blackwoods](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design.png?width=30&name=Untitled%20design.png) [Blackwoods](https://blog.blackwoods.com.au/author/blackwoods) : 15 September 2026 Construction is traditionally a male-dominated industry, but times are changing.
