The 3M Speedglas Welding Helmet G5-01 TW has just launched in Australia.
Whether you are an existing Speedglas powered air user or never experienced Speedglas powered air technology before, the new Speedglas G5-01 TW will be of interest to you.
The Speedglas G5-01 TW is a feature-packed, upgraded version of the industry leading 3M Speedglas 9100 FX Air, with a stack of new technology, launched at the same price point.
Benefit from all the features of the new Speedglas G5-01 TW welding, including:
Larger Curved Grinding Visor and Removable Welding Shield
Flip up to even wider views when grinding! A smooth flip-up function reveals a massive 170x104mm clear, curved grinding visor – 16% larger than the Speedglas 9100 FX Air! Plus, for extended periods of non-welding, users can easily detach the welding visor – helping reduce the helmet weight by over 35%.
Smoother Dark to Light Transition
Human eyes aren’t designed for handling rapid transitions from dark to light to dark again. The G5-01 TW welding lens uses an intermediate shade 5 light state to help minimise eye strain during extended tack welding applications. If an arc is not struck within 2 seconds the welding lens will switch back to its TrueView light state (shade 3).
Bluetooth Connectivity and Memory Modes
With Bluetooth technology, the G5-01TW welding lens allows you to seamlessly change lens settings from the palm of your hand – all while keeping your respiratory protection in place. You can also program up to four memory modes for easy switching.
As well as:
- Climate control under the hood
- 50% longer Adflo battery run time^
- Larger views with superior optical quality^
- For extended non-welding work, the welding visor can be removed to reduce the weight by over 35%
- 15% larger grinding visor views*
- Optional task light and configurable protection
- Improved ergonomics, comfort and balance^

Did you know?
Welding helmets with integrated powered air purifying respirators (PAPR) are the most widely used form of respiratory protection amongst welders in Australia and New Zealand’1 and are mandatory within many businesses.
They have a Required Minimum Protection Factor (RMPF) of 50, meaning that they supply breathing air a minimum 50 times cleaner than the welder would otherwise be breathing unprotected and can also protect the welders’ eyes and face from radiation and high velocity particles.
