Finding the right portable lighting for ad hoc use at work can be challenging, especially on a budget. Premium products can be expensive, making them unaffordable for more casual use. Cheaper products can be unreliable or easily broken, or have short run times from single-use batteries that require frequent replacement.

Heavy or bulky handheld models aren’t an option for workers juggling other equipment or who need their hands free. And the fixed focus of many standard torches and headlamps may not suit the job at hand. The Solidline range includes:

SC4R clip light: This portable light is seriously versatile! Clip it onto a pocket, collar, hat or backpack for hands-free work. Or attach the magnetic base to a metal surface then use the ball joint to swivel the lamp in different directions. Features include five lighting options, innovative Gesture Control to switch on/off with hand motions, plus an integrated battery pack rechargeable with a micro-USB port. The light weighs 35 grams with battery. It has a range of 200 lumens and a run time of 2.5 to 7.5 hours on low.

ST4 pen light: Don’t underestimate the strength of this compact pen light – the housing is made from durable yet lightweight aircraft aluminium. Powered by AAA alkaline batteries or AAA NiMH batteries, it’s long-lasting with three brightness levels easily adjustable via the End Cap Switch. Use the removable metal clip to attach the ST4 to a belt, top or pants pocket, or slip it into a diary. The lights weighs 60 grams with batteries, has a range of between 10-180 lumens, a beam distance of 15 to 70 metres and a run time of up to 30 hours.
SH6R headlamp: This impressive headlamp is packed with features, including an advanced focus system enabling easy transition from a wide flood of light to a sharply focused beam. It features intuitive operation via a switch on the rotating lamp head, a temperature control system to prevent overheating, rapid focus and a transportation lock. SH6R has a high light output when in boost mode, with two dimming levels, plus exceptional run time up to 50 hours on low. Made of durable aluminium alloy with a detachable elastic headband, it uses rechargeable Li-ion batteries. The headlamp weighs 163 grams with batteries, has a range of 30 to 600 lumens and a beam distance of between 50 and 300 metres on boost.
