Choosing the right PROSAFE sorbents.

If the spill at hand is hydrocarbons (Oil and Fuel) only, then you would use the WHITE (colour) oil and fuel sorbents. This includes; pads, pillows, rolls, socks, and booms suitable for absorbing spills up to 160 litres of spillage.

If the spill at hand is a mixture of liquids such as water-based and small amounts of oils and fuels, then you would use the GREY (colour) general purpose sorbents. This includes our; pads, pillows, rolls and socks ranging from absorbing 0.8L up to 160 Litres of spillage.

If you’re handling acids or bases, then you would use the YELLOW (colour) chemical absorbents. This includes our; pads, pillows and socks ranging from absorbing 0.8L up to 11L of spillage. 

Different types of sorbents explained.

Sorbent Pads: pre-cut synthetic polypropylene pads for easy use. Ideal for smaller spills or cleaning up the final spills. Coming in standard packs of 100 (Oil & Fuel, General Purpose & Chemical) or 200 (Oil & Fuel only), each pad absorb up to 0.8L of liquids*.

Sorbent Pillows: Made from loose or shredded absorbent material in a 45cm x 45cm pillow shaped fabric cover. This pillow absorbs up to 5L of liquids and is ideal for when higher absorption capacity is required*.

Sorbent Rolls: 300gsm synthetic polypropylene roll for covering spill over larger areas. Absorbing up to 80L for 40cm x 50m roll and up to 160L for 80cm x 50m roll*.

Sorbent Socks: Synthetic sock made from loose or shredded absorbent material in a tubular shaped fabric cover. Absorbing up to 3.8L for 7.6cm x 1.2m sock and up to 11L for 7.6cm x 3.6m socks. Ideal for when higher absorption capacity is required**.

Sorbent Booms: Made from loose or shredded absorbent material in a tubular shaped fabric cover, specifically designed for containing and cleaning up oil-based spills on water. Can be linked together using built in connectors, absorbing up to 65L of liquid**.
