Ask anyone who’s tried to pour petrol or diesel straight from a can. It’s messy and risky. Chances are, though, you don’t have much choice. If you live and work in a remote area, the nearest fuel station could be kilometres away. As an Australian landscaper or farmer, you rely on a truck, tractor or digger for your trade. Maybe you work in forestry, mining or construction. Vital machinery needs refueling on a regular basis, often on hard-to-access worksites. And it needs to be done asap, to avoid costly delays and downtime. So, out comes the standard fuel can – with all the standard problems. **Potential Hazards** It’s heavy, with potential for back injuries. It pours unevenly from the top. That means you have to lift it right up, risking hazardous spills. Flammable vapour is released, with a high ignition risk. And it’s wasteful, with fuel lost in spillages.
