More than a product: How Indigenous art is powering purpose

At Blackwoods, we believe that progress means more than performance it means purpose. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Geared Up Culcha (GUC Industrial®), an Indigenous-owned business that’s reshaping how industrial products can deliver value not just through quality and reliability, but through cultural integrity and community impact.

A range rooted in culture

GUC Industrial® supplies a growing range of high-performance products to Blackwoods, including its 100% silicone sealant range, which features exclusive Indigenous artwork. These products are more than functional they’re a canvas for storytelling, identity, and reconciliation.

Each design is created in direct collaboration with Indigenous artists, ensuring that the artwork is authentic and meaningfully licensed. This isn’t just about aesthetics it’s about embedding culture into commerce in a way that honours tradition and supports economic empowerment.

Bianca Gardiner-Dodd: Art with intention

The artwork featured on GUC’s silicone sealants was created by Bianca Gardiner-Dodd, a proud Kamilaroi woman and contemporary Aboriginal artist. Her design reflects the coastal landscapes of Bundjalung Country, where she lives, and speaks to the interconnectedness of land, water, and community.

Bianca’s work is deeply personal and culturally rich. It draws from her heritage, her experience as a dancer and choreographer, and her commitment to sharing stories of strength, resilience, and connection. Through a licensed royalty model, Bianca receives ongoing remuneration for her work ensuring that her contribution is recognised not just artistically, but economically.

Her collaboration with GUC Industrial® is a powerful example of how Indigenous creativity can be embedded into everyday products, creating opportunities for education, visibility, and pride.
