Helping workers get home safe.

For Graeme, safety isn’t just a job—it’s a personal mission. After more than 20 years in the safety sector, working with major manufacturers and distribution networks, he joined Blackwoods eight months ago with one goal in mind: helping workers get home safely at the end of every shift.

Working across North Queensland, Graeme supports industries like mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and general engineering—anywhere PPE is essential. From safety glasses and gloves to fall protection harnesses, he helps businesses select the right gear for the job.

On-site support and task-specific solutions.

Graeme regularly visits worksites to assess safety needs firsthand. His approach is practical and tailored—ensuring PPE is not only compliant but fit for purpose.

“Safety is so important—everyone wants to go home and see their family at night,” he says.
“My role is to help provide people with a safe environment at work, and make sure the product is suitable for the application.”

He’s also focused on long-term value, not just upfront cost. On one mine site, Graeme helped switch out gloves that were being overused and underperforming. The new gloves cost more initially, but usage dropped significantly—saving the business money and improving safety.

Why Blackwoods?

Graeme appreciates the camaraderie and support of the Blackwoods team. After years of working remotely, being back in the office has helped him reconnect and build strong relationships.

“Blackwoods is a great place to work. The team is supportive, and it’s good to be part of a business that genuinely cares about safety.”

With decades of experience and a wide range of trusted PPE brands, Blackwoods is the go-to partner for businesses looking to protect their workforce and meet compliance standards.

Life outside work.

When he’s not helping businesses improve safety, Graeme enjoys travelling, camping, spending time with his family, and staying active through umpiring cricket and cheering on his AFL team.
