Crews using heavy, bulky traditional alloy chain or wire rope slings risk manual handling injuries during use or handling operations. Shortening and lengthening adjustments can lead to pinching injuries from chain links. Metal components can cause impact injuries if something goes wrong. Then there’s the risk of failure from using the wrong size sling for the job. The award-winning Bullivants [ADAPTA® Adjustable HMPE Lifting Sling](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/searchpage#q=Bullivants%20ADAPTA&f-ec_category_level1=Lifting%20%26%20Rigging) offers an innovative solution, designed to level up safety and streamline lifting operations. ### **Safer lifting made simple.** Made from high modulus polyethylene AmSteel® Blue Dyneema rope, the ADAPTA® sling is lightweight and flexible, for easy handling. But lightweight doesn’t mean compromising on lifting ability. The Bullivants [ADAPTA® sling](https://www.blackwoods.com.au/searchpage#q=Bullivants%20ADAPTA&f-ec_category_level1=Lifting%20%26%20Rigging) complies with AS18264 and can lift from 3.3t to 17t, at 60° in the standard range, with larger sizes available upon request. Resistant to moisture, chemicals and UV exposure, there are also no chain links to pinch or metal components to cause injury or damage to goods. A single ADAPTA® sling can be easily adjusted, replacing several sizes of chain slings. This means teams can be trained on a single product, helping boost compliance with lifting processes, and reducing the chance of incorrect product selection. Bullivants National Key Account Manager Paul O’Halloran says the ADAPTA® sling is up to 90% lighter than equivalent capacity alloy chains and up to 85% lighter than equivalent wire rope slings. > *“One of the key advantages with this product is the fact that it’s lightweight, it’s only a fraction of the weight of the existing steel chain slings that are in use. From a safety point of view, there’s a reduced risk of manual handling injuries. It can be used across rigging applications, from positioning steel frames and precast concrete elements to lifting heavy machinery or equipment into place. The sling has adjustable legs and is ideal for repetitive lifting tasks, where leg length changes need to be made fast. There’s no need to change slings, thanks to the adaptability from short to long. Uneven loads can be quickly and easily adjusted at ground level as well, without having to count chain links or reposition equipment.
