Diesel, gas or electric heaters for industrial use?
SHOP FANMASTER |
Deciding between diesel, gas and electric heaters is a process that requires the weighing up of facts. If you’re looking for a heating solution for your industrial space, you’ve come to the right resource as we know that there is nothing a good old pro and con list can’t fix.
Read below for our comparison of the pros and cons of diesel, gas, and electric heaters for industrial use, which will hopefully offering you some guidance in your choice of heater.
DIESEL HEATERS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE
PROS
Industrial diesel heaters are well-known for their efficiency in fuel burning, converting the majority of their fuel to heat, and wasting little energy in the process. They can be assembled to your exact spatial requirements, making them a very versatile option for industrial heating. A reliable make of industrial diesel heating will last through many cold spells and will hardly require maintenance.
CONS
The cost always seems to be the first concern, but it is a well-founded one. Industrial diesel heaters don’t come cheap and neither does the fossil fuel required to run it. Diesel heaters may also release harmful fumes that are dangerous to take in over a length of time. They can also be quite heavy and difficult to move around.
GAS HEATERS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE
PROS
Gas fuel is great for heating large spaces and is considerably better for the environment as opposed to other alternatives. It is also reasonably safer, faster to heat, and more effective than other alternatives. Gas heating issues such as carbon monoxide can be easily diverted outside of the space that require heating via piping from inside to outside.
CONS
Gas heaters are quite pricey to install in comparison to other methods of industrial heating. Due to carbon monoxide emissions, you will also have to install piping or ducts for the emissions to be safely redirected outside. Gas heaters also generally have a shorter lifespan and require either maintenance or replacement sooner than other heating alternatives.
ELECTRIC HEATERS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE
PROS
Electric heating has a reduced installation and long-term maintenance cost. Electric industrial heating is also one of the cleanest methods of heating and is pollution free in itself, giving off no harmful fumes and gases. It is an efficient heating alternative, takes us less floor space and doesn’t generally make any annoying sounds which is always a plus.
CONS
Electric heating can be expensive if the cost of electricity is high in your particular area. They aren’t known to be as effective for heating large spaces in comparison to diesel or gas and pose the potential risk of causing electrical issues like fires and explosions. Electric heating for industrial use also requires electricity over a length of time that is otherwise longer than normal circumstances, so a considerable monthly electricity bill is to be expected.
The question of which to go with is entirely dependent on your requirements, and we hope that this has helped to identify which heating options would work best for you from the perspective of both the pros and the cons.
