Cordless tools powering up concreting jobs

Cordless tools powering up concreting jobs
2:34

It’s never easy using concrete construction equipment on building sites. Traditional petrol-driven tools are tricky. Noxious fumes. A lot of noise and vibration. The cost of fuel. Time lost to refuelling, or to rest overheating equipment. Then there’s the need for maintenance.

Electric tools? It’s hard to find power outlets on busy building sites. Trailing cords create a trip hazard, and a nightmare for WHS managers. Battery-operated tools are the answer. Yet they haven’t had the power and performance needed to get concreting jobs done.

Until now.

Introducing the DEWALT POWERSHIFT range.

This new generation of cordless power tools for light duty construction changes the game. The POWERSHIFT range offers a complete site solution, from preparation to placement, and even core and cut, with each tool powered by a high-performance 554WH battery.

The range features:

  • Rammers: No fumes when preparing surfaces in trenches or narrower spaces. Brushless motor technology is maintenance free vs. a petrol-powered machine made up of many components that need to be regularly serviced and maintained.
  • Plate Compactors: Reduced noise vs petrol when compacting the surface pre-concrete pour. Suitable for preparing larger surfaces like foundations.
  • Concrete Vibrators: Significant noise and heat reduction vs petrol equivalent. Choose the backpack for greater mobility, or a powerpack for longer hose use.
  • Power Screeds: Provides a more ergonomic solution with its upright build and rotating handles to suit natural hand positions vs traditional ‘manual’ screeding methods, when levelling off freshly poured concrete.
  • Core Drill and Stands: Combining the 54V cordless Core Drill with the stand and adding a POWERSHIFT battery, provides the ability to drill holes up to 162mm in diameter.

The POWERSHIFT range is powered by a 554Wh lightweight glass-filled nylon battery that can be fully charged in just 52 minutes, and offers up to 60 minutes of trigger run time, depending on the tool. Use one battery, with another on standby, for seamless operation from start to finish.

Existing DEWALT 54V XR FLEXVOLT batteries can also drive POWERSHIFT tools when required, with a XR FLEXVOLT adaptor offering full backwards compatibility.

With POWERSHIFT, the full range of battery-powered light duty construction equipment is available all from one trusted industry supplier, reducing the need to invest in multiple brands or battery platforms.
