Boost Efficiency with Concentrated Cleaners

Written by Simple Green | Apr 3, '25

Whether you're responsible for maintaining a factory floor, a commercial kitchen or a sprawling office complex,
the goal is to achieve the highest level of cleanliness in the most cost-effective and efficient way.

Concentrated products deliver on this by producing many litres of solution that can be adjusted to tackle a range of industrial cleaning tasks, in turn helping reduce inventory costs, storage requirements and packaging waste. With less need for a range of cleaning products, re-ordering is also more efficient. The key to using these concentrated cleaning products is correct dilution.

Why Proper Dilution is Important?

The beauty of concentrated products lies in their versatility. By changing the dilution ratio, you can create tailored cleaning solutions, whether you need a heavy-duty formula for stubborn grease and grime, a medium-strength solution for general cleaning or a light dilution for daily maintenance.

But incorrect dilution can lead to issues, including damage to surfaces from a solution that is too strong, or ineffective cleaning from a solution that is too weak.

Using the wrong dilution ratio can lead to inconsistent results, making it difficult to maintain a high standard of cleanliness across all areas of a facility.

Not All Concentrates are Created Equal

Many formulas rely on a high pH for their cleaning efficacy and perform poorly when diluted at high ratios. High pH concentrates are also generally classified as corrosive, making them hazardous to store, handle and use.

The base ingredients used in high pH formulas are typically solids that are diluted with water during production. This can cause problems when rinsing away chemical residue in the cleaning process.

Overcoming the Challenges with Simple Green

Simple Green® offers a range of concentrated cleaners and degreasers that don’t rely on a high pH, so they remain effective as both concentrates and at high dilution ratios. Simple Green’s proprietary chemistry is formulated with liquid surfactants, making it highly rinseable with residue-free results.

The proprietary surfactant in Simple Green has a high penetration and wetting ability that allows water to surround the dirt/oil particles (which would otherwise repel water). This suspension is then easily washed or wiped away.

These products can be easily diluted with measuring cups or jugs, or Simple Green’s secondary trigger bottles, which are conveniently marked with three dilution fill lines for heavy, general and light cleaning.

For greater efficiency, Simple Green offers automated dilution control systems which can be customised to meet specific dilution requirements. These systems are designed to mix concentrates with water at precise ratios, eliminating human error from the equation.

Simple Green also offers a full range of secondary product labels for concentrates, so you can label diluted products and remain compliant with regulatory requirements.

At Blackwoods, we know how important it is to have the right product for the job, saving time and money.
